Willemien van der Pol has about 20 years experience in foot reflexology. During that time, she has been working on vitality and health and is extremely interested in the holistic view of people and why certain people become sick while others are healthy. From a holistic point of view, Willemien looks at her client’s complaints with enthusiasm and calm. She has a wealth of experience with different target groups in the health sector and the feet are always the basis of her treatments. In these times where the mind receives most of our attention, we often forget to check in with the body. In paying attention to your feet, one can learn to return to the body and to come back to your self. Willemien brings these ideas and experience to this workshop. Willemien’s practice is called “The speaking foot” because the feet tell you something about who you are and where your blockages or physical/mental complaints can originate. Together we will explore and examine our own feet and learn how to read your feet. In this way, we can discover how the physical body is expressed in the feet.
Adrienne Altenhaus began her yoga practice in New York City in 1985 as a compliment to her career as a choreographer and modern dancer. Yoga became an inspirational source and provided a meaningful balance in her professional and personal life. Connecting breath with movement, flow with stillness, flexibility with strength and grace have been her lifelong challenges. Adrienne began her yoga studies at the Jivamukti studios and Morelli Ballet school in NYC. She continued her yoga studies in Rotterdam, NL (Iyengar) and in Antwerpen (Ashtanga, vinyasa and yin). She has completed a study with the yin master Jo Phee at Yyoga brussels for a 50 hour certificate in yin yoga. She has a 300 hour certificate in Vinyasa yoga from Antwerp Yoga where she has been teaching for the last eleven years. Adrienne has also received a certificate in Thai massage with Teune van der Wildt. She has recently completed a one year study of foot reflexology at the OWC In Antwerpen. Adrienne continues to study many aspects of yoga and related topics. She loves to study and teach yoga, seeing the brilliance of each individual in her classes and instilling the inspiration and curiosity of yoga to all who practice with her. Adrienne became inspired by Willemien van der Pol to study foot reflexology after receiving many wonderful foot reflexology treatments from her. This led to the idea of this workshop.
