FAQ

Q: Do I need to be flexible to start yoga?

A:

No. Flexibility is not a requirement for yoga. Yoga helps you build mobility, strength, body awareness, and ease over time.

Q: What is Mysore-style Ashtanga?

A:

Mysore is a self-practice format within Ashtanga Yoga. Students practice the sequence at their own pace, while the teacher offers individual guidance and adjustments.

Q: Is yoga a workout?

A:

Yoga can be physically challenging, especially in dynamic classes such as Vinyasa or Ashtanga. But yoga is more than exercise. It also supports breath awareness, focus, nervous system regulation, and mental clarity.

Q: Can yoga help with stress?

A:

Yes. Many people practice yoga to reduce stress, calm the mind, and reconnect with the body. Slower practices, breathwork, meditation, and consistent movement can support relaxation and resilience.

Q: Can I do yoga if I have an injury?

A:

It depends on the injury. Always inform the teacher before class and consult a medical professional when needed. A yoga teacher can offer alternatives, but cannot diagnose or treat injuries. Yin Yoga is almost always an option, as the practice is slow, adaptable, and supported with props. It allows you to work gently with your body, without forcing or pushing.

Q: How often should I practice yoga?

A:

Even once a week can make a difference. For more noticeable progress, two to three times per week is helpful. A consistent practice matters more than an intense one.

Q: Can I practice yoga during pregnancy?

A:

We do not offer specific pregnancy yoga classes. If you were already practicing yoga with us before your pregnancy, you may continue your practice as long as proper adjustments are made and you inform the teacher before class. If you are pregnant and have never practiced yoga before, we do not recommend starting with our regular yoga classes for the first time during pregnancy. In that case, Yin Yoga can be an option, but only if you inform the teacher from your very first class and continue to remind them until your pregnancy is clearly visible.Always check with your doctor or midwife before practicing yoga during pregnancy.

Q: What should I wear to a yoga class

A:

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe freely. For dynamic classes, fitted clothing can be helpful so it does not get in the way. If you wear glasses and have the option to wear lenses, we recommend choosing lenses for your practice.

After class, please clean and dry the mat, and roll it up properly before putting it back.
