BikYasa Yoga – A Modern Fusion of Hot and Flow, Silence and Music
In this workshop you will experience the energizing and healing powers of BikYasa. You will be exposed to a practice that guides you step by step with words, working together as one body in the yoga room, while challenging your body through movement and stillness. The mirrors and the heat enhance the experience by challenging your ability to stay calm and at peace. If you can find peace in this room, you will find peace in any room!
Inspired by Rumi’s words: “there is a way between voice and silence where information flows.” BikYasa finds that way by balancing silence and modern music, flow and structured postures.
With Gabriel Azoulay
In 2009 Gabe created BikYasa, a perfected sequence influenced by the principles of Ashtanga and Hot 26, with applications of WHY some words are better than others when guiding the body to connect with the mind.
Noticing that the advancement of portable music option made yoga teachers began add modern music to hot classes, he created a sequence that fused the healing principles of Hot 26 as taught by Bishnu Gosh (brother of the famous Yogi and Author of ‘Autobiography of Yogi’ Pramahansa Yogananda) with the principles of movement from the Ashtanga practice, to silence and modern music.
The result is an addicting experience, both physically and emotionally, that appeals to new and experienced yoga students alike.
Learn how to use vocabulary that builds trust and moves a yoga class together. Discover how to use music to fuel energy and excite emotion. Understand how to weave humor and philosophy as you teach yoga poses.
