In this workshop Mati shares his knowledge on both biomechanics and yoga-philosophy.
In the first part we'll discuss the pelvis, it's functions and the way it serves and supports in the different movements of the practice. (extension, flexion, torsion, inversion).
During part two we'll dive in yoga-philosophy and learn the importance of Yama and Niyama and examine how we can apply this in our practice and daily life.
About Mati Guerra (CL)
After a few years of practicing with local teachers, Mati went to Mysore, India in 2010 for the first time. Immediately he was hooked and ever since he passionately keeps returning to deepen his understanding of the ashtanga yoga practice. He received Authorization Level 2 in 2014 from R. Sharath Jois to teach the full Intermediate Series of the ashtanga yoga method. At those days he also started assisting his guru in Mysore at the Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute.
In 2016, as one of the few, he participated in the teachers course that Sharat dictated for the select group of authorized and certified students. This experience gave him a better point of view of the practice and how to teach it. Mati is now traveling the world to share the method of ashtanga yoga.
He will be leading the Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Program at AntwerpYoga from January 3rd until March 16th.
